Plain Pastry Apple Pie

9″ Double Crust Pie

1-1/5  cups Flour of Choice

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1/2 Cup Smart Balance 50/50 Butter or Shortening

4  to 5 tablespoons of Cold Water

Sift flour and salt. Cut in butter with fork, till small pea size. Divide butter in half .  Cut in first half till resembles cornmeal texture, then cut in remaining half .  Sprinkle water , a tablespoon at a time over mixture. Continue mixing. After all is moistened, form into a ball.  Let stand for several minutes. Divide dough in half.  Form ball. With rolling pin roll out from center to edge, using light strokes.  Bake 450 degrees 12-15 minutes.

5 to 7 tart Apples

3/4 to 1 cup of Honey

2 tablespoons flour

Dash Salt

1 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Nutmet

2 tablespoons  Smart Balance 50/50 Butter.

Slice apples thin and put in large mixing bowl.  Add Honey. Mix flour, salt, spices in small bowl and add to apples. Mix all together.  Dot with Butter. Apply top layer of crust. Bake 400 Degrees for 50 minutes.  Place pan underneath pie to catch overflow.
