Brain, Mind and Mood

Mind and Mood

Chemistry runs the brain.  If there is an imbalance of chemicals, mind and mood will be at risk.  In the brain are neurotransmitters, chemicals, which are used to communicate with the rest of the body.  The main ones are adrenalin, dopamine, noradrenalin and serotonin.  Each are made from molecules derived strictly from food, water and air.  Poor nutrition and lifestyle  upsets the brains chemical ballance.

The brain requires a constant supply of glucose in order to function properly.  Blood sugar plays a role here.  Specifically, steer clear of caffeine and alcohol.  We all will argue that they “perk you up”, but in the long run they will mess up your mood. Believe Me!  Trade out your cup of coffee for a glass of water instead, as good hydration is the best brain booster.  Recently I have learned to have a cup of  warm water with a shot of lemon, which gets the digestive system off to a good start in the mornings.
