Water Retention

If water retention is your issue, it is important to drink plenty of water and herbal teas. Contrary to what you might think, water retention can be a sign that the body is dehydrated, meaning the body holds onto water for fear of becoming further dehydrated.  Excess sodium can be a sign of water retention.  Which would mean  the body needs to be flushed out with extra fluids (not soft drinks or coffee).  Vegetable juices have a high potassium content and potassium is needed to balance the sodium in the body.  Dandelion and nettle teas both have  gentle water balancing effects and contain other minerals as well as potassium.  Vitamin B complex, specifically B6, may also be helpful in relieving water retention.
