Sore Throat

My son went to bed last night with a sore throat.  Today I remind myself what to do for him.

Any pain experienced in the head area is hard to ignore.  Especially when it comes to swallowing.  A sore throat can be the start of a virus infection such as a cold. Other causes can be a low immunity , infected glands, reaction to toxins, chronic stress, zinc deficiency, or allergies. If sever it can be streptococcal infection. If left undiagnosed by a GP the infection can affect the heart and bring on rheumatic fever.  Antibiotics may be the solution.

It is important to take steps to boost the immunity system. As I tell my son “Give the good guys ammo to fight the bad guys.”

Ammo For Good Guys

Consume warm not cold drinks such as herbal tea (sage tea soothes the throat), vegetable juice, warm broth’s, soups and pineapple juice.

Take Garlic (Kwai if available) Tablets

Take Goldenseal and Echinacea.

Take Vitamin C.

Take Vitamin A, but not if your pregnant. Take betacarotene, which converts to Vitamin A once it is in the body.

Ammo For Bad Guys

Sugary Foods and Dairy Products

Gargle

Warm water and sea salt .

Apple cider vinegar mixed with sea salt and warm water.

~ It is important to eat foods daily, that help keep the immune system up and running. Keep those good guys full of ammo.~
